Created by youth football coach Andrew Zamarripas, Iron Walk For Kids is dedicated to supporting young athletes, strengthening communities, and creating opportunities for children through sports, mentorship, and positive leadership.
Our story
The organization was born from Andrew's passion for the young athletes he coaches and his commitment to helping them realize their full potential. Through years of working with youth football players, he witnessed the challenges many children face and recognized the need for greater support, encouragement, and opportunity.
The Walk
In 2026, Andrew completed an incredible 200-mile walk from Houston to San Antonio, raising thousands of dollars for local youth football programs. On the third day of the journey, he suffered heat exhaustion and dehydration near Seguin and was hospitalized. Despite the setback, he crossed the finish line the very next day.
The journey was not just about fundraising. It was about inspiring young people to believe in themselves and showing them that determination, faith, and hard work can overcome even the toughest obstacles.
What we do
Iron Walk For Kids works to provide resources, equipment, experiences, and support that help children grow both on and off the field. The organization believes that sports can teach valuable life lessons including discipline, teamwork, leadership, accountability, and perseverance.
By partnering with local communities, businesses, coaches, and supporters, Iron Walk For Kids aims to create opportunities that empower young athletes and help them build brighter futures.
