Why a boxing ring
The message is simple: a hard environment does not have to decide a kid's future. Boxing, football, soccer, fitness and mentorship give young people goals to work toward and adults who believe in them. The organizers want kids focused on their talents, their education and their health instead of drugs, gangs and weapons, and they want every child in the room to see that their community is willing to invest in them.
Not a one-night effort
September 12 is the start of a longer project. The team plans to take the boxing ring to events across the Houston area through 2026 and 2027, so a sponsor's name travels with the ring to every stop and every stop raises more for the kids.
